Woman guilty of possessing IS terror video
A woman who applied to be a teacher at an Islamic Sunday school has been found guilty of possessing a terrorist document.
Dzhamilya Timaeva, 20, from Windsor, Berkshire, had an Islamic State group video that encouraged viewers to carry out arson attacks on buildings and land, the Old Bailey heard.
However, the dental nurse was found not guilty of disseminating terrorist publications.
She was bailed ahead of sentencing on 7 March.
The video, entitled Incite the Believers, encouraged attacks "by burning buildings, forests and agricultural land", the court was told.
Timaeva saw it as a "duty" of her Islamic faith to "wage war against non-believers", prosecutors claimed.
However, at her trial she denied supporting the Islamic State group or being a "terrorist", claiming her fight was in defence of Chechnya.
She applied to teach at the Al-Tawheed Islamic Education Centre in Maidenhead and was listed as a teacher for the Windsor Muslim Association, the jury was told.
Prosecutor Gareth Weetman claimed she printed a cartoon-style children's booklet in order to "indoctrinate young minds" at her classes.
However, Timaeva was found not guilty of three charges of dissemination, while the jury was unable to reach a verdict on a fourth count.
Prosecutors later offered no evidence on the outstanding charge.
