Police incident closes road in both directions

A road that connects a city to a motorway junction was closed in both directions because of a police incident.

The A414 was shut between junction eight of the M1 and the A405 in St Albans, shortly after 06:00 BST.

Hertfordshire Police said it was closed due to a police concern for a person's welfare.

Traffic diversions were put in place and National Highways advised drivers to allow extra time.
