Man jailed for talking to minors via game console
A man has been jailed for six years for child sex offences which included using his gaming account to talk with girls under the age of 16.
Lee Bergstrom, 35, of Nipsells Chase in Chelmsford, Essex, was arrested in his home and was later charged with attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child.
After he pleaded guilty to all the charges at Chelmsford Crown Court on 16 December, he was sentenced to six years in prison on 10 January.
Bergstrom was also charged with an attempted breach of a sexual harm prevention order.
He has been placed on the sex offenders' register for life and his games console was confiscated.
Det Ch Insp Michael Pannell, from Essex Police, said: "I want to reassure the community that we continue to work hard to bring more people like him to justice.
"I am pleased to see that Bergstrom has been jailed for his crimes.
"He not only showed a flagrant disregard for his order, but was actively committing new offences and targeting vulnerable children."
