Police road safety operation sees two arrests

Two drivers were arrested and a number of vehicles seized during a police operation in south Devon, officers have said.
The operation on 16 April in Teignbridge was part of a "day of action" to keep roads safe, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
Police said one driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, one driver driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and one stolen vehicle was recovered.
Other offences included 133 vehicles found to be speeding and five people driving without due care, said the force.
Marked and unmarked police vehicles were involved in the operation, with a focus on those not wearing seatbelts and driving without due care, said police.
'Reduce pain and suffering'
Temporary Ch Insp Dean Drury, head of roads policing for the force, said: "On too many occasions, police officers and other emergency services attend the aftermath of road traffic collisions, where people have been seriously injured or tragically killed.
"To reduce the pain and suffering felt across our communities after a serious collision, we will continue to pursue and educate individuals who choose to commit driving offences which put themselves, their passengers and other road users at risk."
