A car driver is in hospital after a serious crash in the early hours of Wednesday morning on the A75 near Creetown.

Emergency services were called out to the collision involving an electric car and a lorry at about 02:15.

One man, who was driving a blue BYD Seal, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

Police said the lorry driver was unhurt. The road was closed for more than 12 hours.
