Police searching for missing dog after M1 crash

A family's dog has gone missing after fleeing from a motorway crash in which one of their other pets was killed.
South Yorkshire Police said the collision happened on the M1 at junction 33, near Sheffield, at the weekend.
A driver who was suspected of drink driving collided with another car in which three dogs were travelling. A springer spaniel died at the scene and a Staffordshire bull terrier was unhurt, but German shepherd Athena ran away from the scene.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the dog.
The driver, a 40-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a sample and driving without due care and attention. He has since been charged and appeared before Sheffield Magistrates' Court today.
Anyone who has seen Athena has been asked to contact the force quoting incident number 798 of 15 March.
