Boy, 12, arrested after series of field fires

A 12-year-old boy has been arrested over a series of fires that damaged fields.

Playing fields on Clarkes Lane, West Bromwich, were set alight three days in a row last week.

The flames damaged grasslands and benches but no one was injured, West Midlands Police said.

The child, arrested on suspicion of arson, has been bailed. The force is appealing for anyone with information about the fires to come forward.
