Rob Waltham, 52, is the leader of North Lincolnshire Council and lives in Brigg

"Our new Mayor for Greater Lincolnshire is an opportunity to secure more influence and power for our area," he said.

"If elected as Mayor for Greater Lincolnshire on 1 May, I'll be able to ensure that we can do things differently, deliver better roads, buses and more high-quality jobs for you and your family."

He says he will deliver better roads and buses

According to Mr Waltham, who is standing for the Conservatives in the mayoral election, he will secure funding to improve key transport routes, including the A46, A15, A16 and A17, for smoother, safer journeys across Lincolnshire.

He has pledged to bring more high-quality jobs to Lincolnshire

Mr Waltham said he would attract new businesses and investment, ensuring young people can find good jobs locally.

Mr Waltham wants to protect local industry

He has pledged to support British Steel and other key industries to protect jobs and economic stability.

"Let's keep making British Steel in Lincolnshire to protect jobs," he said.

He also wants to provide safeguards for farming

He said he would "oppose Labour's plans for excessive pylons and solar farms that threaten our food security".

He says there will be no new taxes

He has given a firm commitment to keeping taxes low to help with the cost of living, "unlike Labour-led areas where new mayoral taxes have been introduced".

He added: "Together we can shape local services for the next four years with record investment."
