The Lincolnshire Housing Partnership said it hoped the event would bring the East Marsh community together

People living in the East Marsh area of Grimsby will be given the chance to learn recycling tips at a special event later.

The family fun day will give people access to a range of activities and games, as well as experts to learn about household waste, bins and how to improve energy efficiency.

The event, organised by the Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP) in collaboration with North East Lincolnshire Council, will take place from 10:00 to 15:00 BST at Sutherland Park in Victoria Street.

LHP neighbourhood team leader Jade Bramhill said it would aim to make learning about recycling a fun experience while bringing the community together.

She added: "It's important to us to engage with residents, listen to their needs and offer support that makes a lasting difference in their everyday lives.

"We hope this initiative will inspire even more local involvement in making our neighbourhoods cleaner, greener and better connected."

Officials said the free event would build on a community clean-up held by people living in the Nunsthorpe estate last month.
