Yorkshire Water said it would carry out repair work

Yorkshire Water has apologised after a leaking pipe resulted in a road closure.

The company said a team had been to Northway, in Goole, East Yorkshire, on Tuesday to carry out repair work.

A spokesperson said the company was not aware how long the leak had been affecting the road, but there have been claims that water has been seeping on to the road and pavements for several weeks.

"Once the main is repaired, we will reinstate the road surface as soon as possible," the spokesperson said.
