A fire investigation is under way after a blaze broke out at a derelict factory.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were called to the former Jeld Wen factory site on Waveney Drive, Lowestoft, Suffolk, on Saturday at about 20:00 GMT.

Seven crews attended and discovered a fire in two areas before making use of hose reel jets to tackle the fire.

No injuries were reported and the fire service said it was now investigating if there were any suspicious circumstances.

Appliances from Wrentham, Bungay, Southwold, Beccles and Lowestoft attended.

They found a blaze within a factory unit and a smaller fire in another building.

A spokesperson for the fire service said there was nothing to suggest there was an asbestos risk in the area.

Suffolk Police has been helping with the investigation and urged any witnesses to get in touch.
