Charities given £25,000 by Jersey parish

Three charities have been given thousands of pounds in grant funding by a parish in Jersey.
The Parish of St Helier said it had awarded £10,000 to both the Friends of First Tower School and Les Amis while £5,000 had been given to the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity.
The parish said the Parish Rates Assembly made the decision each year on an amount which could be designated for charitable donations for local organisations.
Constable of St Helier Simon Crowcroft said: "I am delighted that this programme continues to be a success and I am looking forward to seeing the positive impact of these donations on our community."
