A man has been arrested after a woman in her 70s was injured in an alleged assault at a holiday park near York.

Police were called to a property at the Hollicarrs Holiday Park in Escrick at about 11:00 BST on Wednesday, North Yorkshire Police said.

Officers found the woman, whose injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, and arrested a man in his 80s in connection with the incident.

A police spokesperson said inquiries were at an early stage and remained ongoing.
