Pedestrian in his 80s dies after collision with van

An elderly man died in hospital nearly two weeks after a collision with a van in Harwich, Essex, police have said.

The incident happened on Main Road, near the junction with King George's Avenue, at about 7:40 GMT on 27 November.

It involved a silver Ford Transit Courier van and a pedestrian – a man in his 80s – who died on 10 December.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Harwich are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward."

Anyone with information or CCTV, dashcam or other footage that might help with the inquiry is asked to contact the force and quote incident number 179 of 27 November.
