Man paid Filipino women for child abuse images
A 62-year-old man who offered money to women in the Philippines in exchange for child abuse videos has been jailed for 16 years.
Peter Swan, of Orton Malborne, Peterborough, made the approaches between 2015 and 2023 using social media and dating apps, police said.
Officers uncovered the exchanges after executing a warrant at Swan's home, prompted by him uploading an indecent image of a child to the internet.
Laptops and a phone with more than 3,000 indecent images of children were seized from his home, detectives added.
Police said he used Skype to talk to the women and used Telegram to pay for images, videos and live streams of children carrying out sexual acts.
On Wednesday, at Peterborough Crown Court, Swan was jailed after pleading guilty to three counts of arranging [or] facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child under 13 and one count of arranging [or] facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child between 13 and 17.
He also admitted six counts of making indecent images of children.
PC Alex Cochrane, from Cambridgeshire Police, said the defendant "shamefully offered vulnerable women" for his own "perverted gratification".
