A slip road has been forced to shut due to a manhole cover requiring repairs

Drivers are being asked to avoid a roundabout in Leicester until a manhole can be repaired on Monday.

Leicestershire Police said just before 11:00 GMT on Saturday that the slip road from the A5460 to the roundabout with Lubbesthorpe Way near Fosse Park in Enderby had been closed.

A defective drain cover which straddles both lanes needs to be repaired, with traffic diverted to the nearby Narborough Road South roundabout at Asda, leading to delays.

Leicester Area Traffic Control said no repairs will be carried out until about 12:00 on Monday at the earliest.
