A man has appeared in court charged with murder after the death of a 24-year-old man in Aberdeen.

Dylan Geddes was found critically injured in the Tillydrone area of the city last Thursday.

He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.

Brandon Booth, 25, made no plea and was remanded in custody after he appeared before Aberdeen Sheriff Court.

Relatives of Mr Geddes said in a statement: "The family is absolutely devastated by what has happened.

"Dylan was a much-loved son, grandson, brother and nephew.

"He will be sorely missed every day by all who knew him."
