Two Northern Ireland men die in Donegal crash

Two men have died and three other people have been injured in a two-car crash in County Donegal, close to the border with Northern Ireland.

It happened on the N15 road at Liscooley near Castlefinn at about 22:00 local time on Friday.

The men, who were travelling in the same car, have been named locally as friends Ryan Glenn and Gordy Galbraith. Both were in their 30s.

Both are understood to be from the County Tyrone town of Castlederg.

'Shock' at deaths

A man and woman in their 70s, who were travelling in the other vehicle, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A woman in her 30s sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to gardaí (Irish police).

Local parish priest at Crossroads, Killygordon, Fr Patsy Arkinson, attended the scene of the crash.

He told RTÉ that locals were "shocked and hurt" following the incident.

Gardaí have appealed to any witnesses or road users who may have camera footage recorded in the area at the time of the collision to contact them.
