Wellbeing centre 'transforms' old school building

A multi-million pound health and wellbeing centre has opened in Bradford after more than a year in construction.
Farfield in Shipley opened on Friday and includes a new atrium, a landscaped communal space and gardens for users of the centre and members of the public.
The facility will be run by the Cellar Trust charity and will provide "a variety of health and wellbeing activities" and support for all age groups.
Kim Shutler, from the Cellar Trust, said: "Farfield represents far more than bricks and mortar, it's a bold new chapter in how we support health and wellbeing together.
"We're incredibly proud of what's been achieved through partnership and shared purpose, transforming a much-loved but outdated building into an inspiring, inclusive space for everyone."
The charity said it was taking expressions of interest from local organisations looking to rent space in the centre.

Farfield, which is based in a former school on Farfield Road, received £3m through the government-funded Shipley Towns Fund.
Gill Thornton, fund chair, said: "It has undergone such an incredible transformation and it's great to see such thoughtful and practical improvements to its use as a community base for meetings and activities.
"I look forward to seeing the impact it will make over many more decades to come."
