Police find cannabis plants after house fire
Cannabis plants were discovered by police after a fire broke out at a house in Scunthorpe.
Officers were called to reports of a property fire in Teale Street at 03:35 GMT on Monday.
Humberside Police said the cannabis was found to have caught fire and electricity was thought to have been abstracted dangerously.
Neighbouring properties were evacuated and a cordon was put in place while the fire was extinguished, the force said.
No-one was injured and police remain in the area while investigations continue.
The force appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service was called to a separate blaze nearby involving a number of vehicles.
It said six vehicles were involved in a fire on Normanby Road on Sunday night.
Three vehicles were fully destroyed by the fire and the others were seriously damaged.
There was also fire damage to the door of a nearby building, the fire service said.
