One person has been taken to hospital following a crash involving a van, a lorry and a car on the A14 near Cambridge.

Emergency services including Cambridgeshire Police were called at 05:41 GMT to reports of a collision on the A14 eastbound at Stow cum Quy.

Police said it is believed the driver of the car may have suffered a medical episode at the wheel and has since been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

The driver of the van and a passenger suffered minor injuries, as did the driver of the lorry.

The road was fully closed from junction 35, with three-to-four miles of stationary traffic while the incident was ongoing.

Two lanes have since reopened and police said no arrests had been made.
