Dyson moving West of England staff to Wiltshire HQ
Dyson is moving all of its staff working in the West of England to its Malmesbury headquarters, including 180 currently working in its Bristol office.
The engineering giant said all its projects and investments continue, and it would support Bristol-based staff with their commute to its HQ.
In 2023, Dyson announced plans for £100m research and development hub on the Bristol waterfront.
The company said that following "significant investment" into the refurbishment of 1 Georges Square, the site would now be offered for lease to other businesses.
The lease on its offices in Cathedral Square is coming to an end, a spokesperson said, and staff that would have been moving to the new Bristol premises will now be based in Malmesbury.
Bill Wright, Dyson's UK HR Director, said: "As a global technology company, our research, innovation and discovery of new technology depends on collaboration, and sparking ideas off each other.
"As the pace of innovation and development accelerates, we increasingly see the benefits that would come from having teams all located together in one physical location."
The company will help with staff travel via a coach service or through free charging for electric cars.
Dyson moved its head office to Singapore in 2019 to be closer to its manufacturing sites and supply chains.
In July last year it announced plans to cut up to a third of its UK workforce as part of a global shakeup.
The company, best-known for its vacuum cleaners, said at the time the cuts would ensure it was prepared for the future in "increasingly fierce and competitive global markets".
Founder Sir James Dyson has been a vocal critic of the UK's economic policies and tax hikes for businesses.
But Dyson stated the cuts were a business decision, not a political one, and a result of its global review.
