Drivers warned of delays as gas pipe work to start

Drivers are being warned to expect delays over three weeks as emergency gas repair work is due to start in Derbyshire.
Pipes installed during the 1970s are to be replaced at the junction of Station Road and Palace Road, in Buxton, after a leak was detected.
Temporary three-way traffic lights will be in place as well as two temporary pedestrian crossings from Monday.
Phil Hendrick, head of customer operations at Cadent, stressed emergency work needed to be carried out and warned traffic management would cause "local congestion".
The company said the replacement could be "more complicated than a conventional job" as the pipe provides supply to two parts of the town.
Mr Hendrick said: "When we identify leaks in our pipes, we act with urgency to make them secure and then perform repairs or replacements to limit any leakage into the atmosphere.
"We appreciate the temporary traffic management needed to enable the road to stay open will add to local congestion, but we also hope people understand."
