Dog died after crash as woman taken to hospital

A dog has died and a woman has been injured after an early-morning crash.
The collision between a car and pedestrian happened on Combe Street Lane in Yeovil, Somerset, at about 06:00 GMT on 8 February.
The pedestrian, aged in her 30s, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital. Her dog suffered significant injuries and had to be put to sleep.
The driver left the crash scene without speaking to the victim, and officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
