Couple in their 70s rescued from flooded car

A couple in their 70s have been rescued by firefighters after their car became stuck in flood water.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to Waterhall Road, in Wixoe, at 13:32 GMT on Monday.

Firefighters wearing flood suits helped the couple out of their car and both escaped uninjured.

Two fire engines – one from Haverhill and one from Newmarket – attended the incident.
