Five in hospital after crash which closed A75
Two men have been seriously hurt and another three taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash on the A75 near Gretna.
Emergency services were called out to the incident involving a black Peugeot 3008 and white Ford Transit van at about 11:10 on Monday.
Police said two men - aged 83 and 77 - had been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It added that a further three men - aged 77, 60 and 31 - had also been taken to hospital as a precaution. The road was closed for about nine hours as a result of the crash.
Sgt Colin Ramage said: "Inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.
"We also ask anyone driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage to come forward."
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed it had sent a "number of resources" to the scene and that five people had been taken to hospital.
