Tributes have been paid to a "hard-working family man" who was killed while cycling in Hull.

Police said the man, named by his family as Chakib, died at the scene on Hedon Road after a collision between his bicycle and a tipper truck last week.

The 59-year-old owned two newsagent shops in the city centre.

A 51-year-old lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and causing death while over the prescribed limit for drugs, Humberside Police previously said.

''Chakib was a hard-working family man, known for his jolly nature and fooling around," his family said.

"Chakib, or "Tic Tac", as he was known to his friends, was the owner of Queens Gardens News and Whitefriargate News.

''We will always remember his wise words, live your life and make the most of it."

Officers investigating the incident have renewed an appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.
