A 15-year-old girl suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a car in Bradford, police have said.

The collision happened on Westgate Hill Street in Tong at about 08:30 GMT on Tuesday, according to West Yorkshire Police.

The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment and her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, a force spokesperson said.

They added that the driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and was helping officers with their inquiries.

Westgate Hill Street was closed for a time while police carried out their investigations, but was later reopened.
