Politicians vote to approve 5G mobile internet

A vote to bring 5G mobile technology to Guernsey has been passed unanimously by States members.
The Committee for Economic Development had put a policy letter to the States asking it to agree to the development and implementation of new technology.
The licensing framework will enable "next generation" mobile technology, including 5G.
Telecoms firm Sure plans to introduce 5G wireless broadband in the Channel Islands in 2026.
Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, member of the Committee for Economic Development, said introducing 5G was about "keeping up with future technology".
The approved policy states it will not require additional masts.
