The fire was started at shop on Shropshire Street in the early hours of Thursday morning

Two men are being hunted after a suspected arson attack at a shop in Shropshire.

The blaze broke out at about 00:45 GMT on Thursday, in a building on Shropshire Street, Market Drayton that was being converted into a barber's, West Mercia Police said.

Insp Mark Musgrove confirmed no one was injured, but the fire had caused "significant damage" and was being treated as arson with intent to endanger life.

The suspects were wearing dark coloured tracksuits and were seen in the area at the time, before leaving in the direction of the town centre, said the force, as it made an appeal for witnesses.

As well as calling the force, information can be shared anonymous with Crimestoppers, a spokesperson added.
