A 78-year-old woman has died after a car crashed into her house.

West Midlands Police said there had been a collision between a Jaguar and VW van just before 17:00 BST on Thursday at the junction of Shilton Lane and Lentons Lane in Coventry.

The Jaguar then hit the house, it said, and the woman, who had been inside at the time, was taken to hospital and later died of her injuries.

Officers spoke to both drivers at the scene and inquiries continue.

A spokesman said: "We are supporting her family at this tragic time.

"We would appeal for anyone with dashcam, CCTV or other information from the scene at around the time to get in touch with us."
