Police confirm man's reservoir death

The man died in Chellow Dene Reservoirs near Bradford

A man has died after he got into difficulties at a reservoir near Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police said they were called to Chellow Dene near Allerton on Sunday at 16:34 BST to reports that a man had entered the water at one of the two reservoirs and was missing.

The force said his body was recovered a short time later.

A force spokesperson added: "We are not treating the death as suspicious. The man's family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers."

Inquiries remained ongoing on behalf of the West Yorkshire coroner, the spokesperson said.
