Organic skate park offers sessions to older riders
A new indoor skate park has opened in West Sussex, offering Silver Surfer sessions for older skaters.
The Skate Farm, located on the Bridge Road Industrial Estate in Haywards Heath, is an organic, no concrete skate park aimed at those with all skating abilities.
Founder Tom Johnston said the oldest member of his over 35s sessions was 65.
"I've built the park especially for anybody that wants to learn because I believe everybody is still a beginner, even when you're in your 50s or whatever," he said.
"All the ramps are accommodating for everybody."
The skate park is open to all abilities, with skateboards, scooters, inclines and quad skates all welcome.
"It's a little bit small for BMX's. But we can accommodate for most wheels," Mr Johnston added.
"Inspired by the metaphor of a farm, where crops are nurtured and grown, we aspire to create a skatepark that serves as a fertile ground for sowing the seeds of positivity among individuals of all backgrounds."
The skate park is also wheelchair friendly to accommodate WMX users.
Mr Johnston added: "Our primary goal is to provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages users to push their limits, explore their passions, and develop their skills."
