A visit to the barbers, church bell-ringing and a game on the bowling green are among the memories being showcased in photo exhibits across a town undergoing significant redevelopment.

The images of Eccles past and present are being shown in shop windows and at its local library in Salford.

They are also being displayed with newer images captured by local residents and amateur photographers as parts of the town centre undergoes demolition work due to regeneration plans.

Photographer Paula Keenan, who led the Picturing Eccles project over the past nine months, said she had been "rewarded with warmth, hospitality and generous donations of archive photographs and shared memories".
