Man in hospital after being attacked with weapon in his bedroom

A man has been taken to hospital by ambulance after he was assaulted in his bedroom by two intruders during an aggravated burglary in Newry, County Down.
Police were called to the man's house in Edencrieve at about 21:10 GMT on Friday where they found the victim, who is in his 40s, wounded.
He had sustained injuries to his upper body and a serious laceration to his foot.
It was reported that the man had been attacked "with a long blunt object" by two unknown men in their early 20s.
The suspects were described as being of slim build and wearing dark clothes with snoods.

Police have appealed to anyone who has CCTV, dash-cam or other footage of the area to contact them.
