The first and deputy first ministers are expected to meet King Charles on Wednesday.

It will form part of a visit to Windsor Castle by executive ministers along with the leaders of the other devolved nations.

The prime minister is also set to take part in the event, which will include a dinner in the evening.

First Minister Michelle O'Neill last met King Charles when he visited Northern Ireland in 2022, following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II.

She also attended the King's coronation the following year, along with other political leaders from Northern Ireland..

O'Neill and Emma Little-Pengelly met Queen Camilla last year at Hillsborough Castle when she visited Northern Ireland, while the King was being treated for cancer.

As part of their visit, the first and deputy first ministers are due to meet business leaders in London on Thursday before returning to Northern Ireland.

While some of the politicians are expected to spend the night at Windsor Castle after the dinner, it is understood O'Neill has opted to stay elsewhere.
