Guernsey school choir to perform at the O2 Arena
Year 5 and 6 students from a Guernsey primary school will be among thousands of children performing at the O2 Arena in London.
The Melrose students are taking part in the Young Voices Concerts, which give children the opportunity to perform in big venues across the UK and show their love for music.
After going for the first time in 2024 and performing at the O2, they loved it and decided to do it again.
They would be performing 10 songs on 24 January, including one accompanied by British Sign Language, as well as a few medleys, choir leaders said.
Tom Lewis, Year 5 teacher and Melrose's Young Voices coordinator, said: "I think this is what it is all about, is to promote that enjoyment [of singing].
"The expressions on their faces, the reactions that I get afterwards, it clearly means a huge amount to them. So, any opportunity we can it is always great to be able to go."
The Young Voices tour is also taking place at large arenas in London, Manchester, Sheffield, and Birmingham.
