Spiderman stalker given suspended sentence

A man who stalked a woman by leaving a series of presents at her home while disguised in a Spiderman mask has avoided jail.
Mason Rogers, 23, of Marsden Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty in January to stalking involving serious alarm and distress.
On Friday at Brighton Magistrates Court he was sentenced to a 16-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
He was also given a 10-year restraining order and told to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activities.
At a previous hearing it was revealed Rogers had left presents and posted packages through the victim's door in Hailsham, starting in February 2024, on one occasion wearing a Spiderman mask.
On that occasion he was caught on a doorbell camera installed after the first incident.
A further package, containing a doorbell camera and a second camera, was delivered by a man wearing a baseball cap, and contained a note saying 'happy ten months and sixteen days since you found out you had a stalker'.
The restraining order, which is in place until 11 July 2035, forbids him from contacting the victim either in person or online.
