A head teacher has appeared in court after an alleged assault at a school in Neath Port Talbot.

Anthony Felton, 54, was charged with attempted wounding with intent, following an incident at St Joseph's Roman Catholic Comprehensive in Aberavon on Wednesday morning.

Mr Felton, known as John, who is the school's head teacher according to a recent prospectus, appeared at Swansea Magistrates Court on Friday, and spoke to confirm his name and address.

The 51-year-old alleged victim has been discharged from hospital with minor injuries.

Mr Felton was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on 7 April.
