A 10-piece outdoor gym is officially opening in a park in Brighton on Saturday.

The privately-funded gym at Wish Park is the third to open in the city's parks in the last year, says Brighton & Hove City Council.

Friends of Wish Park designed the area, which includes an 8ft (2.4m) body weight resistance unit.

Experts from outdoor equipment company Kompan Fitness will be on hand at the opening between 11:00 and 12:00 GMT.

Councillor Alan Robins said: "Providing opportunities for our residents to stay active and improve their health is a huge priority for us.

"Therefore, I'm delighted to see another outdoor gym now up and running in one of our popular parks."

The opening is part of the council's play renovation plan which has already seen workout spaces launched in Preston Park and Victoria Recreation Ground.
