Man dies after crash involving lorry and car

A man has died and another man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash involving two pedestrians, a car and a lorry.

It happened on the A534 Wrexham Road in Holt, Wrexham, at 19:09 GMT on Sunday.

North Wales Police said emergency services attended, but one of the men was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remains closed as an initial investigation is carried out.

Sgt Leigh McCann from the North Wales Police Roads Crime Unit said: "Sadly this is now being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision and our thoughts are with the two men's families at this very difficult time."

The crash happened close to Hotel Wrexham, formerly known as the Holt Lodge Hotel.

Sgt McCann appealed for witnesses or anyone with video footage to contact them.
