Man charged over murder in Newton Poppleford

Police have charged a man with murder after the death of a 70-year-old woman in a Devon village.

Richard Law, 67, of Lark Rise, Newton Poppleford, was charged in connection with the death on 17 January, said Devon and Cornwall Police.

At the time police said they were treating the death in the east Devon village as an isolated incident.

Mr Law is due to appear before Exeter Magistrates' Court by video link on Thursday 23 January.
