Crews remain at scene of large industrial fire

Fire crews remain at the scene of a large fire at an industrial estate in Wolverhampton.

Firefighters were called to Spring Road Industrial Estate on Lanesfield Drive at about 10:45 GMT on Saturday and were at the scene throughout the night.

Fifteen tonnes of scrap metal were alight in an open yard, said West Midlands Fire Service which added that police evacuated nearby units as a precaution.

A crew remained at the scene on Sunday to carry out recovery work and ensure all hotspots had been extinguished.
