Second Alderney politician resigns in fortnight
A second Alderney politician has resigned in just over two weeks, the States of Alderney has said.
States Member Bruce Woodhead resigned with effect from January 31, Alderney's president, William Tate, said.
Woodhead's announcement follows the resignation of the island's most-senior politician Nigel Vooght on 15 December.
Woodhead has been contacted by the BBC for a comment.
Woodhead joined the States of Alderney two years ago in an uncontested election, because not enough people stood.
He recently came last in the election to become one of Alderney's two representatives in the States of Guernsey.
The States of Alderney said a by-election for the vacant seat would be held on Saturday 8 March 2025.
