Student racers unveil new sports car
A university racing team has unveiled it's new sportscar for the new season.
The UWRacing Revolution 500 EVO, driven by the University of Wolverhampton Race Team (UWR), was launched on 9 January to compete in the Equipe Sports Prototypes series.
Shane Kelly, racing driver and UWR team manager, said he was excited to drive the car and the vehicle showcased "the latest technology, [like] traction control and power steering."
The university team is mostly made up of engineering students. Last season, the team's 10th season of racing, dthey finished on the podium nine times and took a second place at the Supercar Challenge held at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
The new car comes after a new partnership between the team and Revolution Race Cars.
Looking ahead to the new season Mr Kelly said: "Whether students are striving to get into F1 or GT Championships, having access to state-of-the-art equipment can only be good for their development.
"The equipment and expertise our race team have will be beneficial for Revolution for them to tap into and use our students for design and machine shop work."
