Max Dixon, 16, (L) and Mason Rist, 15, (R), were murdered in Knowle West on 27 January

Three people have appeared in court charged with assisting three teenagers who murdered best friends Max Dixon and Mason Rist.

Max, 16, and Mason, 15, were stabbed outside Mason's home in Knowle West, Bristol, on 27 January last year, by four teenagers. The teens and a 45-year-old man have been sentenced for their murders.

Marcus Williams, 31, from Hartcliffe, along with Dominic Smith and Ellie Maddocks, both 25 and living in Westbury-on-Trym, appeared before Bristol Magistrates' Court earlier.

It is alleged they helped three of the killers by driving them to an unknown address. They will next appear at Bristol Crown Court on 10 February.

Ms Maddocks, Mr Smith and Mr Williams were not asked to enter pleas to the charges against them and were released on unconditional bail.

Five people – Antony Snook, 45, Riley Tolliver, 18, Kodi-Shai Wescott, 17, and two boys aged 15 and 16 who cannot be named due to their age – were detained for life in November and December for the murders.

Max and Mason, who had been best friends since nursery, died from stab wounds after being attacked on Ilminster Avenue by the teenagers, who were armed with machetes and a baseball bat.

Bailey Wescott, 23, of Whitchurch, and Jamie Ogbourne, 27, of Hartcliffe, were also jailed in December for five years and three months after each admitting two counts of assisting an offender.
