A pink glow over Hull - and it's not the Northern Lights

A pink glow has been lighting up the sky across Hull - but this time it is not the Northern Lights.

The colourful glow has come from LED lights, which are part of new technology designed to maintain the playing surface at the MKM Stadium - the home of football team Hull City and rugby league side Hull FC.

A spokesperson for City said: "The club has invested in state-of-the-art equipment to accelerate the growth and repair of the pitch between matches to improve the playing surface for the remaining games of the season."

People across the city have been sharing their photos of the striking pink hue.
