Attempted murder arrest after man seriously hurt

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man in his 50s was attacked in the street near a school.

The victim was found seriously injured on Ribbleton Hall Drive, close to Moor Nook School in Preston shortly after 06:00 GMT, Lancashire Police said.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

A man, from Preston, aged in his 30s, is being questioned in police custody, the force added.
