WW1 names for police's Remembrance Sunday pups
Edith, Flora, Kipling, Harold, Archibald and Ernest are the latest recruits for West Midlands Police - as part of their dog unit.
The names of the six cocker spaniel puppies have been revealed by the force which asked for suggestions on social media in December.
The chosen names were to honour those who served in World War One, after the puppies were born on Remembrance Sunday, the force said.
The six pups have been sent to temporary homes with volunteers ahead of their police dog training.
"Dogs were valued companions during World War One. The bond between our handlers and their dogs is unbreakable and we couldn't do this job without our four-legged heroes," a spokesperson said.
