A man in his 80s, one of the drivers involved, suffered serious injuries, police said

A man in his 80s is in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after two cars crashed in Herefordshire, police said.

A silver 4x4 Suzuki and a grey Ssangyong pickup were travelling in opposite directions when they crashed on the A49 between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye, in Harewood End ,at about 17:05 GMT on Friday.

The man who suffered serious injuries was one of the drivers, West Mercia Police said.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. No-one else was hurt.
